The Naija Bitcoin Pre‑Conference 2025 wasn’t loud or crowded, and that was the beauty of it. It was a small gathering of Bitcoiners, set up in a roundtable style.
There was no stage, no microphones, just people sitting together, talking Bitcoin the way it’s meant to be discussed openly and honestly.
I attended with the Bitcoin Africa Story team, led by Destiny Smart, alongside other passionate Bitcoiners. One of the highlights for me was meeting the Naija Bitcoin Conference convener, Oluwasegun Kosemani. The setting made conversations feel natural, not performative.
Conversations, Not Presentations
Because there was no stage, everyone was part of the discussion. We talked about Bitcoin adoption, education, and real use cases, especially within Nigeria and across Africa.
There was no focus on price or market noise. It was about why Bitcoin matters and how people are actually using it.
The roundtable format made it easy to listen, share ideas, and learn from each other. It felt less like an event and more like a community meetup with shared values.
Beyond the Discussions
After the conversations, we took time to walk around and explore the venue together. Those moments (outside the discussions) were just as meaningful. They gave room for deeper connections and casual conversations that don’t always happen in formal settings.
Later in the afternoon, we headed to another venue where the atmosphere shifted to something more relaxed. It became a space for merriment, networking, and bonding. Laughter, stories, and shared experiences filled the room, reminding me that community is just as important as ideology.

Overall, the pre‑conference was a great experience. It set the tone ahead of the main Naija Bitcoin Conference—not with hype, but with connection and intention.
What stood out most was how understated everything felt. Bitcoin in that room wasn’t loud or promotional; it was practical, patient, and confident.
